Sex positivity

Self-confidence and self-awareness form radical self-love

Throughout our lives, we have been taught to shame ourselves for exploring sex

Slut-shaming and stigmatization around queer communities and STIs has driven sex practices underground and increased risky behaviors.

Deviant seeks to reduce shame by encouraging safer sexual exploration and normalizing sex as a form of self-care and self-expression.

What is Sex positivity?

Deviant defines Sex positivity as the act of unlearning shame around sex to safely explore sex as a form of self-care and self-expression.

Queer Black and Brown people live in a world that constantly reminds us that our sexuality is “nasty,” degrading, or “a sin.”

We’re creating spaces where people can:

  • Discover who they are in a judgment-free environment.

  • Express their sexuality through clothing, music, and dance.

  • With the help of our partners, educate themselves on the benefits of sexual exploration and how to protect themselves.
